New York Times!

O.K. So it’s been a while. This blog has gotten off to some false starts, but things have been craze at work. One of the benefits of work though, is travel.  I actually had the work gods smile on me the last few weeks and I was able to spend nearly two weeks back home in N.Y. catching up with Family, Friends and handling business

Taking the train..taking the train.

The Acela is a great a way to get to back and forth to NY.

Dinner with friends at the Breslin in the ACE Hotel New York. I hadn’t had a chance to get there yet and was looking forward. I had the pleasure of meeting proprietor Ken Friedman once with Buscemi (Who else?).  Another good look for the team behind The Spotted Pig etc.  I recommend the Ox-tail.

Brendon(Supreme NY) is like a brother. We go back to like seventh grade. It’s always great see him and get his unique view on things.

Ting(Reebok)

Sky(Epiphany etc.)  and Angelo (Supreme) sharing thoughts over coffee and donuts. Thanks for coming out gentlemen.

Yes sir Mr. West , we’re trying some new things. As far as shoes with no shoe strings, try the Alien Stompers 1987.

Tourney Time!

Ayo! I know a there will be  billions of dollars in lost productivity over the next couple of days but sh*t…Its Tourney Time!! Yeah yeah yeah…my last post was about Lacrosse and this one is about hoops but f**k  it.  Bare with me, I am just getting my legs under us over here.

Anyway, this time of year is amazing. Way too many games to watch and not enough time. For me it takes me back to the old Big East.

Good luck with your brackets and try to get some work done.

March Madness….Lacrosse!!

leave a comment »

Sunday the field of 64(65 w/one play-in-game) was announced for the Mens NCAA Basketball  Tournament.  I love the NCAA tournament and I am a die-hard college hoops fan but what some don’t know is that right now the Lacrosse season is in full swing. College teams have been playing for about a month and High School Lacrosse is about to jump off.

I grew up on Long Island and lacrosse was a major part of my life. These days I am just a fan but during the days of March when the sky is gray and the ground starts to thaw I start to think back to the time when I used to play.

These days you can catch a game on one of the cable sports channels on the regular. I am not surprised how the popularity of the game has exploded over the last 20 or so years.  If you ‘re not familiar, the game of Lacrosse offers -in my opinion – an amazing spectator experience for sports fans. The game is high scoring, fast-moving and it combines strategy similar to that of basketball and hockey with the physicality of American Football.

Check these pix of Lacrosse cool:

Old School Kit

Jim Brown – Most people don’t even know he played the game let alone that he is considered by some to be the best ever.

Gary Gait -This guy was the MJ of lacrosse. They changed the rules because of him. This move was dubbed Air Gait for obvious reasons.

Syracuse is like the evil empire of the game and they have the hardware to prove it. They play the game with as much swagger as any of Jim Boeheim’s  Syracuse hoops teams ever has. Respect.

So if you have the opportunity to take in a game at the local high school or even a college game I would highly encourage it.

The guys at Gourmet do a great job. Right now, for the unpredictable weather of early northeastern spring days, I can’t think of a better pair of trainers to keep you safe from the elements, comfortable and looking good. There are several colors in the market but I still gravitate towards the hunter green joints.

Club Monaco can be a bore sometimes. They often times seem like they are a caught in some weird early 2000′s metro-sexual time warp. But sometime they get it right. Check this seasons Fireman’s Jacket.  Its clean with some great details and priced reasonably.
